Thomas Öst Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac., M.A.) Thomas Öst is the founder and director of the Multidisciplinary Health and Wellness Center, The MedSPA. Öst earned a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University in Los Angeles, California. He is a licensed acupuncturist, nationally board certified and also holds a postgraduate certification in Advanced Constitutional Facial Acupuncture. Öst has worked with AHG and UPMC’s Integrative Medicine Programs. In this capacity he also served as the principal acupuncturist in research projects studying major depression, menopause, and urinary incontinence. Öst served as a board commissioner for the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He served as chair of the examination development committee for the national board examination in acupuncture, and chair of the national ethics and disciplinary committee. He has developed policy initiatives and programs and was a key figure in establishing the national public relations campaign for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day. Öst treats patients with a wide variety of problems and conditions. In addition, he offers specialty treatments in Cosmetic Acupuncture and has established a reputation working successfully with individuals and couples challenged by infertility and other reproductive healthcare issues.
